Antonello Orlando

There are musicians – though – whose artistic restlessness and personal temperament lead them to the intention to explore the best that the sound can offer, regardless of the musical style chosen.
I have rarely met musicians of this category, who have also been able to manage their artistic life without dissipating their energies in putting themselves in many different contexts. Likely some examples exist and Antonello Orlando, in my opinion, is one of them.

Biography

Antonello Orlando

Antonello Orlando, a guitarist and composer from Southern Italy, embarks on a musical journey across contemporary genres, drawing inspiration from classical, rock, and psychedelia. He began his musical path at the age of 6, directed by his mother to study piano, and later switched to guitar at the age of 11. In 2012, he graduated in jazz guitar under the guidance of M° Pietro Condorelli at the “San Pietro a Majella” Conservatory in Naples. In 2018, he graduated with honors with a second-level academic diploma in classical guitar in the class of M° Vincenzo Amabile, also at the Naples Conservatory. In the same year, he obtained a second-level Master’s degree in “Advanced Musical Interpretation” at the “A. Boito” Conservatory in Parma, specializing in guitar.

In 2024, he released the EP “Reflections” as a homage to the legendary musician Thelonious Monk, reimagining the jazz artist’s repertoire and adapting it for classical guitar. As the guitarist and co-founder of “La Bestia CARENNE,” a group active since 2011, Orlando has released three albums with the band: “Ponte” (Bulbart, 2011), “Catacatassc’” (Bulbart/Resisto, 2014), and “Coriandoli” (Bulbart/Believe, 2017), collectively overseeing the composition and arrangement. Antonello currently studies and collaborates with Maestro Marco Caiazza.
